Tips to throw an engaging winter party during your ski trip
Date Created: 01/06/2012
While it may be tough to find ski areas with a full carpet of snow around the country these days, many individuals are going to be packing up their cars and heading off with friends to their favorite cabin up in the mountains. You already have an entire ski hill packed with activities, but before you hit the slopes, you should throw a winter party to celebrate your time away from your job and other responsibilities. However, this will require a bit of preparation beforehand to pull off, so use the following tips to kick off your trip with style.
1. Make a meal in advance. Going out for dinner with a large party can get expensive in a hurry, so consider whipping up a big lasagna or a casserole as well as a selection of beverages and bringing them with you. This will allow you to throw the dish right into the oven when you get to your cabin so you'll have a world-class meal ready to go without having to break the bank. Additionally, be sure to bring party tableware, catering supplies and other winter party supplies to make cleanup much easier. After all, it's your vacation and you don't want to be hunched over a sink with dirty dishes!
2. Give your cabin a makeover. Bring along a few mylar balloons, colorful streamers and confetti to decorate the inside of your cabin. Place winter-themed curling ribbon around your serving table, and fill in the gaps of your living space with doses of festive color. You should also bring a few scented candles along with you - you can fill the cabin with your favorite winter scents and add ambiance to your dinner.
3. Hold a sledding race. With an entire ski hill at your disposal and a full stomach, you and your friends should be ready for a sledding race. Bring a few snow tubes and an air pump on your trip so your friends will have an engaging activity as soon as they arrive. After a few trips down the slopes, you and your friends will be more than ready for a weekend of winter activities.
Winter will only be around for so much longer, so make sure that your ski trip is unforgettable with a few of these festive additions.
