Tips for a good baptism party
Date Created: 04/25/2012
Your child's baptism is undoubtedly one of the most important moments in their life, as well as in yours. The sacred ceremony at the church in front of your family and priest is an occasion to celebrate. The party that bookends the event should demonstrate the joy you feel at your son or daughter being welcomed into God's family.
Send out some party invitations that give the name and address of the church as well as a notice that there will be a get-together at your place afterwards.
This might be a more solemn celebration, so you can limit the party supplies to some party tableware colored with spring tones, like pinks and blues. If you feel like adding a more enthusiastic feeling to the afternoon, then hang up some streamers and curling ribbon. A party centerpiece with a religious theme or your child's picture will also be a good touch for the spread.
For party favors you can give out mini crucifixes or little bags of candy.
Chances are some of the attendees will be children as well, so make sure you have something to keep them entertained, like party games or a few toys.
