Oktoberfest is currently underway all around Germany, so if you're looking to find a perfect excuse for a fall gathering, this celebration has boundless potential. From delectable food, to German beer, to enjoying the beautiful autumn weather, you can throw together a bash quite easily.
If you have a large backyard, try to turn it into a traditional German beer garden. Hang up some personalized banners, streamers and curling ribbon, and be sure to incorporate plenty of greenery as well. You can even use some empty beer steins as flower vases for a unique centerpiece.
It's not Oktoberfest without plenty of brews on hand, so check out your local beer supplier to see if he can supply you with a few kegs of German beer. Pretzels are also a hallmark of Oktoberfest, so put out a couple of baskets for your guests to munch on and throw a few soft varieties in the oven.
