Breast cancer survivors to be honored at racing event
Date Created: 08/23/2010
The New York Racing Association will be hosting a special event at the Saratoga Race Course to help raise funds for breast cancer research, The Saratogian reports. The Fabulous Fillies Day will feature a number of events and activities that will honor women involved in the horse racing industry as well as those who have survived breast cancer. The first 25,000 attendees to arrive will receive a free pink breast cancer support bracelet from the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). There will be a parade of survivors and supporters as well as plenty of refreshments for attendees as they enjoy a day full of races. A specialty cocktail, The Grey Goose Pink Ribbon, and pink lemonade will be available, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness party is a great way to celebrate those who fight the disease. Place plenty of pink and white balloons, streamers and confetti to create a light, festive atmosphere. Personalized mint tins will be a great gift to send home with your guests reminding them of the great day they had honoring women who have survived cancer.
